A new French Patisserie in town , Panjim GOA

Yesterday night was a happy moment for the French community in Goa , as we had the chance to witness the opening of the extremely tempting “Delicieux “ .

A truly French Café & Patisserie in the capital of Panjim.

On this occasion Mr Vishnu Surya Wagh former Congress general secretary came personally to cut officially the red ribbon. The shop is positioned on the Miramar coastal road (Facing Carasid) just before the Dona Paula roundabout.

In the “boutique” you find the best classic of French pastry like delectable “Chocolate éclair” ,mouth watering “Lemon tart”  exquisite “Tatin Tart”, delightful “Meringue”  ,scrumptious “choux a la crème” and others  delicacies with Mango and Chocolate delicate flavor.

But overall you feel as you are truly in France in an genuine original French patisserie.

A delicate, lovely and tasty experience you can’t miss, and that you have to share with Gourmand and Gourmet fans .

Une promotion ou une blague…tres loin de cela , et bien au contraire la surprenante réalité de la rencontre avec un chef de grand talent qui est l’ancien chef de l’Hilton Resort au Koweit pendant 5 ans…

On le retrouve maintenant a une intersection de route au plein Coeur de la campagne du Nord de Goa…!

Sa patrie lui manquait tellement que le chef “Cajeton D. Souza” est revenu avec une simple idée en tête…Faire gouter aux Goanais et aux touristes curieux, le vrai gout de la cuisine locale.

Il est si modeste qu’il l’a appeler (en traduction de son petit panneau) Tester & Gouter…vous conduisant ainsi a apprécier ses petits plats avant de les adopter complètement …

Souriant et sympa , Cajeton , nous a donne un bel aperçu de la qualité des mets Goanais avec une qualité 5 étoiles a la “Hilton”…et a un prix que jamais personne ne pourra concurrence. Un repas avec soft drink pour 100 rs indienne, il ouvre son kiosque a 16:30 et repart a 22:00.

Kudos started in October 2012 in Oct. as a specialist of wood fired pizza and sizzles. The backbone of the enterprise are Savio and Shawn.They join together to start something in Goa to be very different than all the others restaurant. Savio has an extensive 13 years of experience in hotel catering especially during his period in Cruise ship.

For Shawn it is a 12 years experience as a solid bar consultant . So they got all their energy together, and planed carefully the “Kudos” concept. The food served in “Kudos” is Italian, continental and Goan and they are creating a fusion of all the three cuisine. The reason behind the concept is that many Restaurant are serving exactly the same thing , with very small changes.

To make a difference they are presenting fusion food with ,as an example  in house made,Egg mixed with “Goan Chorizo Ravioli” that has become a huge favorite among the locals, this including the delicious “Prawn Balchao” pizza and many more..!! On the other hand their menu specialty is  selected “Sizzler” as there are very few Restaurants in Goa who actually serves a really good sizzler.  You can choose from a very diverse variety of sizzler from pork, chicken, beef, veg, lamb, and see food. And they offer also burgers and sandwiches but only in the daytime .

The pizza start from 6.30 pm onwards on weekdays Monday – Friday  and 12 pm onwards . On Saturday- Sunday “Sizzlers” are available all day.

A final note on the special Atmosphere brought by the decoration. Kudos was built up only by them , with no architect, nor any interior designer involved in his creation .

Their guests keep asking them who has designed the place, and they all look surprised that it was done by the sole creativity of these brilliant gentlemen.

The restaurant has a very warm “stone” looks on the above section, and in the lower section the live wood fired pizza ,with a small waterfall, is welcoming the guests.

Finally one of the most unique designs of kudos is the panoramic glass window  , where guests can see everything that is happening in the restaurant ,which showcase the whole place inside out ,and vice versa. You are lovers of cupcakes and cake? You are in Goa and you search for a location to enjoy sweets ?  Look no further, I tested the place for you, with an acceptable quality but nothing compared to the real French pastries naturally but we have to admit that some cakes are absolutely delicious. Carasid is a brand in Goa,where they are present in the territory with more than 8 stores, pastries preparation is done in a centralised kitchen  in Pilerne organized .

Thanks to this proper organisation the stores can offer the same quality across the board . I often buy for us……. my daughter loves the cupcakes and a special mention for the cheese cakes which are exceptional a despite the excess of sugar… 😉

Vous êtes amants des petits gâteaux et de la pâtisserie ? Vous vous trouvez a Goa et rechercher un endroit ou savourer des gourmandises ?Ne chercher plus, j’ai teste l’endroit qu’il vous faut, avec un qualité acceptable rien en comparaison des vraies pâtisseries françaises, mais sur certains gâteaux il faut reconnaitre qu’ils sont aussi délicieux.

Carasid est un brand a Goa, ils sont présent sur le territoire avec plus de 8 magasins, et la préparation des pâtisseries se fait dans une cuisine centralisée a Pilerne, organisée donc, et fait de manière a ce que tout les magasins proposent la même qualité. J’achète souvent des ……. que ma fille adore et les cheese cakes sont aussi très bons, malgré le sucre en excès, ils font du bien 😉

Bref, je vous invite a aller tester par vous mêmes les meilleurs pâtisseries de Goa, avec the, et petit déjeuner servi sur place ,aussi !!!

The Park Holiday Beach – Calangute

You all know how it is difficult to find a place open early in the morning to enjoy breakfast during the tourist season. So in the middle of May, it is a challenge!
By rolling over Candolim, after vainly searched, we found « The Seasons Beach Resort », an hotel and we went there to take our breakfast. I opted for the buffet and took some chole, poha, a parotha and a Nescafe (Rs 150), Eva has chosen a cheese omelet with two toasts and a coffee (Rs 150).

The buffet offered other choices: masala omelette, corn flakes, watermelon juice, etc..
Nice place, fast and attentive service. Open daily from 7.30am until 10am.

Vous savez tous qu’il est difficile de trouver un endroit ouvert tôt le matin pour déguster un petit-déjeuner durant la saison touristique. Alors en plein mois de mai, cela relève de l’impossible !

En roulant sur Candolim, après avoir vainement recherché, nous avons trouvé ”Le Seasons Beach Resort”, un hotel et sommes allées y prendre notre petit-déjeuner. J’ai opté pour le buffet et pris un peu de chole, du poha , un parotha et un Nescafé (Rs 150);  Eva a choisi une omelette au fromage avec 2 toasts et un café (Rs 150). Le buffet offrait d’autres choix : omelette masala, corn flakes, jus de pastèque, etc.

Endroit agréable, service rapide et attentionné.  Ouvert tous les jours de 7h30 jusqu’à 10h.

The bar and restaurant is located in Calangute towards Candolim, just before St. Anthony’s chapel.
Open 24h/24, 7 days / 7, even during the monsoon ! Do not trust the place that is very simple, even austere … The food is excellent and inexpensive.
We tested a breakfast, fried eggs were perfect, crispy bacon, proper Nescafe …

Une petite faim à n’importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit ? Allez au Cricketers.

Le bar-restaurant est situé à Calangute en direction de Candolim, juste avant la chapelle Saint-Anthony.
Ouvert 24h/24, 7 jours/7, même pendant la mousson ! Ne vous fiez pas au lieu qui est simplissime, voire même austère… La nourriture est excellente et peu chère.
Nous avons testé un petit déjeuner, les oeufs au plat étaient parfaits, le bacon croustillant, le Nescafé correct…
